Title: Temple at night
Post by: BernardLanguillier on August 13, 2009, 07:11:47 pm
Street lights turning into a perfect studio lighting set up for this nice Kamakura temple, watch the shoulder light.

This image is a 180 megapixel panorama stitched from d3x and AF-S 60mm f2.8 at f8. HDR wasn't needed to achieve this result and the shadows remain suprisingly clean accross the frame for the 3 sec exposures at ISO 100.

Cheers,
Bernard

A beautiful image Bernard....and the street lights do certainly make the rooftop and trees stand out against the dark sky.

Cheers

Nicely done Bernard. You picked a good vantage point for a pleasing perspective and filled the frame nicely. As you say there's plenty of detail in the shadows and I bet the detail is impressive at a larger size. Did you have to vary the focus point to get everything sharp, or did f/8 give you enough DOF?
