Title: The Wonderful World of Albert Kahn
Post by: tom b on August 09, 2009, 08:40:17 pm
I've just stumbled upon the BBC documentary "The Wonderful World of Albert Kahn" and I'm hooked. It's still on SBS Australia at 3pm Saturdays for the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for it in your local area.

"In 1909 the millionaire French banker and philanthropist Albert Kahn embarked on an ambitious project to create a colour photographic record of, and for, the peoples of the world." The project continued till 1930 and resulted in over 70 000 colour images from 50 countries. Find out more at:

There is a book of the same name. Albert has left us a remarkable photographic legacy.

Cheers,

Thanks Tom, looks interesting. Checked the SBS website but passed episodes don't seem to be on there. Nevertheless, might have a look this week-end.

Cheers
