Title: Trailer shot on RED
Post by: witz on July 01, 2009, 04:33:50 pm
I whipped this together pretty quick ( shot in 2 hours, edited in 3 ) to get the attention of some local producers here in Louisville....

RED B17 with 8GB CF's, Canon 35mm f1.4 L on the Birger mount, Kessler pocket dolly for some movement.

I have the trailer at the front of my reel: http://www.witzke-studio.com/reel.html (http://www.witzke-studio.com/reel.html)

or at 720p here: http://www.witzke-studio.com/vault/the-vault.mov (http://www.witzke-studio.com/vault/the-vault.mov)

That was a very cool montage of footage that you have yourself there.

I didn't see anything online about the B17 by Red. Can you elaborate on what that is?

I think it looked great, but by the looks and clothes I thought it was for some sort of fashion/modeling thing, not a suspense show --

I would love to see what Red footage looks like without the great lighting, in other words, Joe Sixpack lighting, or lack thereof, vs. pro lighting.

Truly amazing output and must start saving pennies for a larger sensor Scarlet.  Looking at that MF epic sensor, I'm not sure why one would ever buy an expensive MFD back again if you could have video as well for the same money, unless there is no way to piece together a small form factor Scarlet/Epic that isn't too unwieldy.

I'm starting to think of Red clips as gadget porn and worry my wife will catch me peeking and hide the checkbook for a year!

I think he means "build 17" of the firmware for the camera.

Yes... build 17.

I have not yet upgraded to the build 20, which sounds really good, but I don't have time to make sure it's without any bugs before my next shoot.

Shot available light only?  Then that's what I've been hoping to see.  Thank you very much for the tip, I'll check it out.  The irony of my comments about tech porn and the actress involved in this movie was not lost on me; too funny!
