Title: LED Gallery Lights?
Post by: bill t. on June 29, 2009, 08:06:19 pm
Can somebody recommend a LED based light suitable for gallery use?

Have a situation where very low power consumption is desirable.  I have seen a few LED modules with GU10 and MR16 bases that can be used in ordinary track lighting fixtures. The light quality is either sickly cyan or yucky yellow, and color richness noticeably poor.

Ideally would like to find something in the 3400 to 5000 K range with a reasonable CRI, and rather more spot than flood.  They would be used with a small amounts of tungsten and daylight spill coming in.  Money is not a huge issue, the ones I looked at were $10 specials from ebay.  There seem to be much pricier versions available, are any of those are good enough for gallery use?
