Title: Zion Valley Floor, March 2009

Is this image the aftermath of an ice storm?  Or is it something else like an Infrared image or a
selective desaturation?

Very striking image, I just can't tell what I'm looking at on the screen.

This one could use a description/story.

I've visited Zion NP during the winter months several times and the cottonwood trees in the canyon are one of my favorite subjects. Around mid morning, the sun hits the bare branches and highlights them very dramatically against the rock walls of the canyon that are still in shadow.
