Title: moving from LR 1 to 2
Post by: adam z on March 27, 2009, 01:01:32 am
I have been using the original LR for a while, and am thinking about getting LR2, as I want to get a 5D MkII, plus the new features would be nice. Just wondering what happens to everything in the library?? If I do a backup before putting LR2 on should all of my past work be transferred into the library of LR2??

Hope you can help

thanks

You should back up your library just to be safe, as anything can happen. However, migrating from LR1 to LR2 is quite simple and caused no problems for me. It transferred my entire library over without a glitch.

Upgrading Lightroom really is simple.  Backups are always good, but as mentioned, you shouldn't have any problems.

Adam....

I think you'll be glad that you did.  The improvements from the 1.x releases to the current release are quite good; almost to the point where it's a bit of a different animal and I think you will be very pleased.

After the upgrade you should end up with faster and better tools.

LOL....and I do NOT work for Adobe!  ;-)

Cheers....
