Title: Canvas texture

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a canvas with almost no texture to it to print on an Epson printer (11880). I saw a sample of canvas that had texture similar to 200 sandpaper. I don't know where it came from. It would be an ideal product for me. No texture at all would be great!

Been evaluating 4 canvases this last week.

In order of texture...

(Least Texture)
Fredrix777KVWR (aka "Vivid")
Old Epson Premium Canvas Matte
Breathing Color Chormata White
New Epson Premium Canvas Matte
(Most Texture)

Fredrix777KVWR, although minimally textured, still has some, and unfortunately a little more than its recent predecessor.  Not surprisingly, it prints very sharp.

Old Epson Premium Canvas Matte had the nicest looking texture, still pretty subtle, and was moderately sharp.

Breathing Color Chromata White has noticeable texture, moderately sharp.

New Epson Premium Canvas Matte is a textural obscenity.  Very fuzzy printing.  My tiny Ansel Adams moon in my favorite shot looks like a wad of lint.  Epson, what were you thinking!

Would like to hear what others have found.

InkAid  Dura CAN901 is the smoothest canvas I've seen.  And extremely thick----expensive, but worth it when you need an exceptionally smooth surface canvas, in my opinion.

Not canvas, but the Lexjet WR Satin Cloth has a perfectly smooth matte coating with zero texture.  Extremely thin (6 mil), but it won't tear and can be stretched for gallery mounts.  Also useful when a backlit display option is needed.

InkAID has some interesting offerings, alas, many only in rolls for us down in the cut-sheet steerage section. This description made my morning, though:

"Dried beneath the rising sun"? Must one scream "Banzai!" when feeding it into the printer? It looks like paper manufacturers have been reading some of the far-fringe audiophile ad copy that is reguarly ridiculed on the audio forums.
