Title: Second C&C
Post by: EasyEd on March 14, 2009, 12:58:51 pm
Hey All,

Since that first image went over with such a dull thud... I thought I'd try again. I will get to some landscapes soon.

Cropped from a larger image - no further PP.

C&C Welcome!

Looks like it wants to be in portrait orientation.

Maybe... it would be worth a try.  Looks like there's something in that image trying to get out.

 Just a few tweaks. YMMV

This is much different from the first. This one has a lot going on, in several different directions, competing for the viewer's interest and attention. The first thing I'd do is some kind of simplification, to give it more of a coherence. Chaos is OK of course, that's the nature of fire, but it's still hard to digest.

Hey All,

Thank You All!

Tim the original has a corner that pretty clearly "anchors" the image to a landscape orientation. With this crop portrait works fine and perhaps is the better choice. I'm going to continue working on this one as well as I think it is a "keeper" - as think what some representation of this image looks like printed "big" (whatever that means).

The tweaked version works much better for me.
