Title: Rio Tinto

I would like to show a set of details picked at an special location, Rio Tinto (Red river) at the South-West of Spain. It's a river with a heavy concentration of minerals in its water that makes it reddish. The water tints rocks and mud around with a spectacular gamut of colors. Thanks for looking and any comments and critiques.

These are great. Almost unreal. Did you know there is a filter, I forget its name, that accentuates or allows the colour red to come through more than the others? Apparently has some kind element in the glass. My favourite is 1 and 3.

What an amazing collection of colours!  Toxic waste dump comes to mind, but I like the idea of minerals much better.  I like the first one, although the background image of Sri Ganesh in the third one is interesting!

Yep, thank you all for your comments!.

It's amazing what can squeze a small boost in contrast in the files. Printing them is quite a challenge if you want to get acurate results. With the gamut of papers I have I couldn't find any that the Proof view in PS gave somethng on par. With some curves you can approach what's on screen but not exactly. Fortunately there are little references to compare so they give some room to play "creatively"

Juan, the colors in these pictures are really amazing. I would pick up the 1st and 4th pictures as the best. The 1st one looks like you've got some snake scales on the mud! This is the nicest picture in terms of composition as well: intertwined curves and shapes that keep the viewers interest within the image. The 4th image is kind of other-worldly. My only "complaint" here is the cropping of the outer-edge rocks. In any case, well done!

Sligty off-topic, but can you recommend any laboratories in Barcelona that still do E6 processing?

I ask, because I have a freezer with a lot of film in it doing nothing. I used to use Betacolor in Palma de Mallorca, but it seems that they don´t do E6  anymore. I remember that there used to be a pro lab in Barcelona called EGM, I think, but that was many years ago.

If you can fly some suggestions past me, that would help!

Rob, I have no idea about E6 but EGM are still here, one of the most reputated, I peeked at the web site and they seem to do E6 . EGM (http://www.egm.es/servicios) (under "Sistemas Analógicos")

This crop is much better...
