Title: Z3100 short print limit?
Post by: mcbroomf on February 16, 2009, 04:13:52 pm
I just migrated to a Vista 64 machine, and I've just about finished installing everything. I loaded the 64b driver and I've been setting up my paper length selections.
I have a 24" Z3100, and now when I try to set up a print on 24" roll paper that is 24 wide and 16 long it says that it must be longer than wide. It offers to "fix" this for me and makes a selection that is 8" wide by 24" long (ie using a 24" long piece of paper). This certainly never happened on my XP Pro machine, I routinely print 16x24 using the full width and about 17" of paper. All of my printing is done in Qimage which of course uses the HP driver.

Is there a way round this?

Thanks

This has been covered in more threads, here and on the Qimage list. With Qimage just accept what the driver says, switch from portrait to landscape in the driver and Qimage will auto rotate the images that they fit economically. If you make sure that auto rotate is on in Qimage and if you use a print page width size in Qimage that falls within the printer margins 24"-0.4" = 23.6" at most.
