I'm wondering if the 5D mk II failures might be related to a particular batch.
Our two cameras have serial numbers 2 apart (320105762 and 320105764) and we received them in mid December.
Could those of you on the trip send me (post or PM) your serial numbers (or range e.g. 320105XXX) along with whether you had problems or not?
Thanks,
Martin

Sorry for the delay in responding. My 5DMkII serial # is 0220105970 and I had no problems, even without a rain cover that I left at home.

My serial number is 320100137, and I had no problems.
