Title: Uninstall Eye One Match Software
Post by: John Thomas on February 05, 2009, 11:24:13 pm
I have eye one match installed on my macbook pro and would like to remove it and all its preference files.  For some reason I can not find out how to do that.  Can anyone send me a link?  I seemed have lost all my info on how to do that.

Thanks

John

The installer doesn't provide a way to remove the software. In your Eye-One Match 3 folder, you should find a log file (Installer Log File). It's supposed to tell you where and what as been installed on your MacBook Pro.
Now, for the preferences, they are usually stored in ~/Library/Preferences. I don't know if Match has a preferences file (I just reinstalled my software on a larger HD and haven't used Match).
You should also check in your items as Match puts a entry to remind you that you must calibrate your display (login items are accessed via System Preferences > Accounts).

Leaving preferences won't hurt your Mac.

Hi,

I think I got myself into  jam and did not realize it until it was to late.  My laptop will not seem to hold its profile for my 26" NEC monitor.  And last night I found out that it messed up my laptop screen as well.  I think that it maybe because I have eye one match on my computer but I also installed spectraview 2 to calibrate my NEC.  I must have a conflict at least I hope I do.  It may be a hardware issue but I thought I should get rid of Eye One first to see if it clears up my problem.  I can fix my NEC when I have it connected to the laptop by redetecting my displays.  But I guess guess I need to check it every so often or at least every time I boot to make sure it's right.  What a pain and eyeone-xrite is no help.  I can find all the information on installation but nothing on how to remove.   I did look at the log file so I will track that down and uninstall all that I can find and see how it goes.  I know it loads on startup so I need to find that setting in accounts?

Thanks

John

I can't help on your NEC/Eye-One issue. You're right, the log file tells you where things were installed but fails to provide a way to remove the software.

I think that you should be OK if you remove the Eye-One folder (in your Applications folder) and then go to System Preferences > Accounts, then select your account and click on Login Items. You should see a list of all the applications/helpers that are launched. Select the ones you want to ditch and press the "-" button.

Let me know if it helps…

Thanks for all of your help on the uninstall.  It appears that when I tossed it in the trash it cleaned up after itself.  I could not find any part of it that I saw earlier.  The one little snag I ran into was it didn't not like getting tossed while it was in use.  If I had turned it off in the account setting rebooted and then tossed it I would have avoided a major system lockup.  Oh well thanks for the help and I hope my problems will be over now.
