Title: Corea, Maine

I shot this several years ago and rediscovered it this morning while digging through the archives. There are technical issues with the photo (focus, for one) but I think it's an interesting snapshot of the working waterfront of the Maine coast. This is in Corea (pronounced 'Korea') Maine. The three small boats in the foreground are skiffs that the fishermen use to get to/from their boats, which are normally out in the harbor. The three large boats are for, well, fishing. For those of you wondering where the heck the water is, the tide was out. It would soon roll in, lift the boats off their keels, and the fishermen would take to the sea in search of lobsters. Anyway, just wanted to share.

This is a refreshing look at a part of the Maine coast that hasn't been overly touristified (yet). Nice.

There are a fair number of folks from Maine that don't even know where Corea is. It's a very quiet, out of the way fishing village. I like discovering places like this.
