Title: MF - Mamiya RB 67 220 film backs but only 120 films
Post by: hs0zfe on January 03, 2009, 03:16:30 am
Hi All:

I am having problems here in SE asia. Several 220 film backs, but only 120 film.

Q: would it be possible to use a 120 film in a 220 back?

Cheers, Chris

I have an RB but its been a while since I loaded any film.   I think you can use 120 in a 220 back.  220 backs are made to run film through without the paper backing that 120 has so I guess the pressure plate clearance is narrower.  One issue is that the 220 back might forward film on loading to a different spot.  I would check that.  Also you will have to watch the counter and then manually put the back through its 20 frames.  Maybe sacrificing a roll to see how all of that works would be the way to go.
