I just purchased an Epson R1900. I know this is a pretty generic type of question, but how do I get it to print the image I see on the monitor. I previously had an Epson 1270, which did a great job with my old computer system (XP). I had to buy a new computer which has Vista as the OS. Epson didn't have drivers for the 1270 and Vista, so I updated to the R1900. How do I set it up so "what I see is what I get" so to speak. I downloaded the ICC profiles for Epson papers from their website, but the prints are still darker and less vivid than the image I see on the monitor. Aside from over correcting the monitor image to get an acceptable print, what should I do?

This is the most basic and frequently asked question by people starting to experience a digital imaging workflow leading to print. Do a search on this website for information about colour management - in particular display calibration and profiling. See also Michael and Jeff's excellent tutorial "From Camera to Print".
