Given the times and todays market, in addition to all of the support I've received, I have just released a free image that is downloadable for printing with any printer. I have sized the file to 8x10 print size.
The will be the first of several images I will be releasing as open source downloads (I am retaining some of the rights) to celebrate photography, forests, and the human spirit.

I'm glad to see more established photographers use Creative Commons. There are examples of the same in other arts (I know of books and music), but haven't seen too many photographers even experimenting with varying levels of free rights.
It might be worthwhile to link to the appropriate CC license, or at least copy the exact terms so people know them. Also, the photo itself has a copyright notice, but no mention of CC - some printers might refuse to print it if someone takes it out to a copyshop.
All of the screen-resolution photos on my site are also under Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial license which reserves only some rights, but I have reserved all rights to the two full-resolution panoramas. Not sure I want to take the plunge of releasing full-res photos.
