Title: Printing with CS3 and OSX10.4.11

My main machine out in the studio is a MacPro, running CS3 under OSX10.4.11. On my desk, I was doing all my printing with a PPC Mac, with CS under OSX10.4.11 and an Epson 3800 printer.

Now I am using my MacPro to print, and notice the print dialog box has changed with CS3. The "Same as Source" button is no longer available for handling files I have moved into the printer profile space during soft proofing.

I have included 2 screen shots of my workflow, this first photo shows handling a straight file with no Photoshop printer profile selection, and doing the profile selection in the print driver.
Does this look correct?

Thanks in advance for help with this embarrassing issue! I've been doing printing with ICC profiles for years and should know better.  :

I soft proof in PS, choose the rendering intent that works better and then set the print screen as the first one you've uploaded: choosing the PS manages color, paper's proper driver, the rendering intent. No adjustments in the printer's driver screen.

Soft proofing has no effect on the file, only what you see on the screen. Use Convert to the printer/paper profile if want to choose that route.

Choose what cocasana said unless for some reason selecting PS Manages Color causes double profiling which is not unheard of with Adobe's current approach to PS and LR.

I'm unclear as to what you are doing in the second one.  As mentioned, regardless of what you are doing with soft proofing, when you print you can always use what you are doing in your first dialog to print.
