Hi Folks:  This was in the latest Lee Valley Tools newsletter: Measuring Irregular Objects Using Photography (http://www.leevalley.com/newsletters/Woodworking/3/2/archive.htm).  A little blast from the past.

About 40 years later some guy was doing that at mural scale with nekkid girls swathed in netting, objects truly in need of measurement.  Ah, the 60's!  I remember the exhibition, not the guy...there's a lesson there.
