It is a functional enhancement over the D60, but uses the same chip. It will also be less expensive.
The 1Ds is unlikely to come down in price for a while.
Everything will be revealed this coming weekend.

My family and I are going to Arizona in a couple of weeks, so if I want to go with a 1ds, I'd better get it soon. Having just had the pleasure of buying an Apple 23 inch display, one month before the price dropped by 40%, I have no desire to repeat the experience.
From what I have read, the D10 replaces the D60. Would it be fair to anticipate some improvement but still basically the same limitations vs. the 1Ds?
Will anything occur to affect a choice of the 1Ds? Will the price of the 1Ds drop?
I'm sorry to be impatient, but enquiring mind wants to know.

And the chances of getting the 10D in your hands before your trip are slim to none. Sorry.
