How do I get my .cr2 files to show thumbnails in Windows Explorer?

You obviously did not install those MS products for a 1Ds MKIII because I already did so before asking.  Also thank you for teaching me to use Google.  Guess you just discovered it.

Did you check canon's web site for a current codec that supports your camera?

Yep.  Installed Codec but thumbnails don't work for my 1Ds MKIII RAWs

Canon updated their codec.  You might want to try it again.

Actually, they've updated it twice since your last post.
