With my Mac, I can "read", but not write, to my new 1TB hard drive. With Windows, I've of course got no problems with it.

What do the perms look like for your drive? Right click or control click the drive and select "Get Info". Is "Ignore ownership on this volume" checked or unchecked?

If your drive was formatted NTFS you could have a problem. Fat32 works on both systems.

It looks like your drive was format as NTFS. Macs can read but not write to NTFS formatted drive. If you albsolutely want to keep your drive as a NTFS drive, you can install NTFS-3G (free). You can read more about NTFS-3G at the following address: http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/ (http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/)

Thanks!
I will download and install the NTFS S-G .dmg file.
For future reference, there is no advantage for me to format external FAT hard drives into the NTFS file format, is there?
Thanks!
