Title: When will CS4 be available?

Adobe said by Q4, 2008 and Adobe's 4th quarter ends Nov 30th...in general the ship comes 30-40 days after the announce.

The purpose of the post is to give a heads up to current PS7 users this is the last chance for them to upgrade (indirectly, by the process outlined in the quote), but it also implies a CS4 release date of around Oct. 15 or shortly thereafter.

"......between now and October 15th, you CAN still upgrade to Photoshop CS3 and still be able to upgrade to Photoshop CS4 when it is released. Adobe has a policy that if you buy the “current” version of Photoshop (currently CS3) AFTER the next version has been announced but BEFORE it ships, you can get the next version upgrade for the cost of shipping and handling....... After Photoshop CS4 ships, the upgrade path to Photoshop CS4 will be Photoshop CS and above only.

The astute amongst you may also deduce when the expected ship date of Photoshop CS4 might be…"

So maybe just another week or so.

I went to the Adobe site and entered the promotion code for an Photoshop CS4 upgrade and it said it wasn't
valid on that site. Where did you use this code?

Well it works in the US store but not in the German store. I'm really thinking in not buying CS4. It is just not fair. Final price for US people ^^ 122,691 EUR = best price for German customers 249EUR for the upgrade from CS3 to CS4....

I must confess I am at a loss to understand the logic behind Adobe's pricing structure (I suppose it's "charge what we can get away with", but who knows).

This is an historic moment for us here in Ireland; Adobe products are actually more expensive in France and Germany than they are in Ireland. This must be a first. CS4 Extended full version €1293 in Ireland; €1486 in Germany, €1493 in France, including VAT, which is less in France and Germany than in Ireland.

I can't resist this: Schadenfreude, Götterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium..... Sorry!

Ditto for me at the North America Adobe online store. Plus they want to charge 12.44 in sales tax. I would prefer to have the disc with any additional software items and any manual that would come with the boxed version. Does anyone know if the current upgrade comes with a manual?

I will probably wait for my pre-order at Amazon.com. As usual, they have no idea of when the upgrade will become available and currently list Nov 7 as the release date.
