Title: 'Uncreating' folders in the ZD
Post by: Justinr on August 22, 2008, 05:29:50 am
On one of my memory cards I have a folder of images that I cannot get rid of either from the camera or by the PC when slotted into the card reader. Any ideas out there on how I can clear it out completely and start afresh with a clean new card?

Try this: format the cards in the reader via a PC -- format them FAT leave them un-named.  Then before sticking the cards in your camera, reset the folder numbering on the back to 100 (or whatever) then do a hard reset of all settings for the back -- I think that is one of the menu items IIRC.  Then stick the new cards and format normally.  Not sure you can get back to folder 100 this way, but at least all cards will be the same...
