Title: Why colors washed out ?
Post by: evgeny on August 13, 2008, 02:43:25 pm
Hi,

I'm still learning my Sinarback 54M.

The back provides excellent resolution. Shadow details are brought out very well.

The Saturation is set to 100% in CaptureShop 5.6.1.
But the colors look washed out and had turned into a very unsaturated version of what I normally see by eyes.

How to improve the colors?

Dear Evgeny,

I suspect that you are using the "linear" curve, in the "process" panel, under "curve". This curve affects the contrast, and the linear one is giving a flat contrast.

Use any other available "default" curve (Standard 1, Standard 2 or Standard 3) by clicking the pull-down menu (click the "arrow" in the upper right corner in the "curve" plugin)or create your own contrast curve by changing the shape of it. Once you have found a curve that fits your taste, you can save it with the pull-down menu (click the "arrow" in the upper right corner in the "curve" plugin).

Best regards,
Thierry
