Title: Usage fees for large mural?
Post by: skibum187 on August 08, 2008, 01:26:14 pm
So I need some help trying to price usage fees for two large murals that will be displayed in a restaurant in Denver. The murals will be from one photograph and will be 6x24 feet and 6x36 feet. The client has their own printer they would like to use. Any suggestions?

First you need to get a number of the amount of people that will see your work.  Then asmp.org should have all the resources you need to calculate size, traffic and length of time to be displayed.  I personally would break it down so they can pay you annually, or you could just do one lump sum and unlimited time.  Hard to say since its not a billboard with a limited life,  client may not be willing to pay X amount of dollars every year.  You def don't want to ruin a opportunity to have your work displayed and anger the client by charging to much, but at the same time you should get fair market value.  Check out asmp.org they will have a lot of info on this subject.
