Title: Colormunki and Canon's 16 bit export plug-in
Post by: tyurek on August 07, 2008, 02:54:02 am
Is there a way to print Colormunki's target image through Canon's 16 bit export plug-in? By default, Colormunki brings up the 8-bit OS printer driver. But this means I cannot make a profile for the 16 bit plug-in using Colormunki! Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'll bet the test targets are somewhere in the Colorminki program folder(s).  Find them and you will be all set.

I wasn't able to find one. But even if I were, that would only be the default first target. The second part of the profiling process involves a custom set of second patches based on the readings from the default target, which will be dynamically generated by Colormunki. Same for profile enhancement targets.

I'm on Windows XP and I have found a pdf virtual printer driver through which I was able to print to a pdf file and open it up in Photoshop. I have yet to confirm that the target RGB values are correctly maintained (as is) in the process.
