Title: Off topic - creating video pod casts

I've been using Windows Media Encoder to record screen capture and audio to create a podcast, but wonder if there's anything better out there.  I looked at Quicktime Pro, but that looked like the video capture part is only available on a Mac.  Any advice?  I'm using Pinnacle 12 as the editing application.  OS is Vista 32.
