Title: Miami, any tips ?
Post by: Frank Doorhof on July 11, 2008, 02:30:46 am
Hi,
I will be in Miami from October 13-20.
We will have own transportation.
Are there any sites that really need to be visited ?

To be honest I hate the tourists attractions, what we look for are edgy/gritty/urban/decay/grafity and of course beautiful nature.

Or we would love to visit working photographers in the Miami area.

Greetings,
Frank

For beautiful nature, get yourself out to one of the Everglades airboat rides.

Or go to the Anhinga boardwalk trail inside the Everglades National Park.

I can't comment on the edgy/gritty stuff since I've never lived in Miami. I've just visited some of the tourist attractions.

Miami is a great city but not on the cheap. Go 5 star and you'll love it there are some fantastic restaurants and night life. The art Deco district is fabulous and there are some really nice little art galleries around.

Just be careful and steer clear of the shady parts of town and avoid any street people especially at night it can be a very dangerous place. Lots of guns about

Frank would love to have you over to our shop here in South Beach. Doug and I would be more than happy to show you around and get you in touch with a couple of photographers that may be able to assist you with some shooting locals.
Shoot me an email and we an coordinate.
