Title: 10.5.4 OSX
Post by: Snook on July 04, 2008, 07:33:55 pm
Just wondering if anybody noticed any problems with 10.5.4 and Phase Programs..
Sure would hate to update and then have it not work..
And Problems that any body has to report?
Thanks

No problems at all. I've been using 10.5.4 since its first day. P45+files are fine with either C1 or LR.

I would always recommend rather than using software update to download and install the complete combo:
10.5.4 Combo (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1054comboupdate.html)

This will ensure that all extensions, drivers, Java VM modules etc. are placed where they should.

No problems (yet...).

Snook: nice work. What's that music on your site?

i have to 2nd Yaya's recommendation. i had mechanical problems (fan on macbook would not shut off). MacFixIt web site had the combo load recommendation and it worked as well as a few others.

i also re-set PRAM (or whatever they're now called) by turning on mac with control-option-P-R held down for 3 sets of chimes. i also reset battery controller, SMC. this is reset by turning off laptop, removing battery and then holding down power button for 5 sec. then reinstall battery and power up. if laptop battery not re-charging properly, the SMC should be reset.

now all works fine.

Thanks Yair,

I've been trying to do the latest update via the software download window for some time now without any success.  Great tip.

Mac software update would not work on my Mac Pro, use what yaya said.
Try this:

What happened?

If software update stopped working on my Mac and I couldn't find out why and fix it, I'd be sufficiently concerned to reinstall from the original discs and run all intervening updates again. Something's wrong.
