Two lovers on a branch!

shot on Galiano Island, bc, canada at 400mm.

Does somebody know what kind of bird is it?

Well, it's pretty hard to tell from the size of the image.  Given the size and colouring and beak shape I'd say a species of sparrow, but it's not one I recognize...

Even though the birds are really small in the top picture, I like it a lot. The configuration of the branch in a circle is really neat.

I was very pleased when I discovered the expression of the 2 birds...
looks like some babies are coming!

and actually it wasn't shot at 400mm but 300mm...
