Title: Fashion police
Post by: Robert Roaldi on June 03, 2008, 08:15:07 am
I occasionaly read about overly zealous security antics on the part of the authorities. The stories seem funny or ridiculous but I bet they aren't to the people involved. But I came across thisMy Webpage (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1234193.ece) and now I AM worried. If the fashion polie get this kind of power, I'm doomed.

My apologies for the above badly phrased link. The word "this" should have been hyperlinked.

It reads like the incident could have been the result of a gag, but then again....  If you read Small Arms Review in the 1990's, you might have wondered who was buying the hundreds of thousands of high-quality gun silencers advertised there.  According to ATF and FBI, no police agencies in the USA were authorized to use silencers in law enforcement encounters.  But other sources say that "everyone knows" they're doing that anyway.  The very incident(s) that led to formation of the first SWAT teams were the SLA/Patty Hearst scam.  So many former police and security people in the SLA, you had to wonder who was monitoring the monitors?
