I'm thinking about a used rz67II, it's really cheap here in secondhand market, but I don't know what's the difference between II and II D, except that D version has electronic contact with DB.
Does anyone have used both II & IID? if the difference is not big, I'll neglect IID since it's hard to find in secondhand market and/so it's much more expensive. A used II is about 800$ but a used IID is at least 2000$(in China)
Thanks in advance.

You have it exactly correct. With a Phase back on the ProII it requires a totally different adapter and two cables to connect. The IID has an electronic connection via the adapter and does not need cables.

Thank you Chris, but anything else?

I think that's the only difference.
I have to say, there was an "EX" condition IID at KEH.com for around $900, and a Like New IID for $1300 I think, a few months ago.
"A used II is about 800$ but a used IID is at least 2000$(in China)"
Wow. Prices are that high in China?

The D, if used with Mamiya's HX700 adapter (and with the back set to "AFD") doesn't require a sync cable and cannot overshoot the back
You can use the D with a mechanical adapter (from Leaf, ECO etc.) and it'll then function like a non-D, meaning it'll require a sync cable and will allow to overshoot the back.
Optically and mechanically there is no difference between the D and the non-D.

Yair,
Please clear it for me if the D will work without cable with Aptus 75S in Hassy H mount using HX700( available?).
We went through this about a year ago but maybe something has change.
Thanks
Andre

Andre, I believe the Mamiya adapter was made for the RZIID to work with the ZD back electronically, which of course, has a Mamiya 645AFD mount, so a Hassy H mount back won't work on this adapter.

I have two of the original RZ bodies. Could you please provide some info re compatibility with phase backs:
1. What is the cost of the adapter & cables for the original RZ vs adapter for the RZ11D.
2. Can the rotating back function be used with both cameras.
3. Will the original RZ prism fit the Pro11D.
Thanks

Harold,
1. The RZ/RZ Pro II adapter plate lists for $1990.00 and the RZ Pro IID lists for $1250.00.
2. The plate can rotate on the RZ Pro IID adapter, but not the RZ/RZ Pro II.
3. The original waist level and prism finder will fit the Pro IID.
Below is a pic of both adapter plates. Sorry for the resolution.. it's my point n' shoot and not a Phase.

T-1000 is right, Andre. Your H back can only work on the RZ (D or not) via the Leaf or ECO adapters, both mechanical and require a sync cable.
I have two of the original RZ bodies. Could you please provide some info re compatibility with phase backs:
I know a few people who use Phase H backs with a Leaf RZ adapter. We make 4 different RZ adapters (H, V, M and AFi) and they all rotate on both D and non-D models.
They are all mechanical so you'll have to use the KG or P1 Y-sync/ wake-up cables
