Title: Horseshoe Bend

Hi.

Do you think that the contrast between the rocks and the shadows inside the canyon is too high?

Regards,
Luis

Yes.

I'd like to see just a little detail in the shadows. Not much, but a little.

No, I think it's right on. Too much detail would detract from the lovely swirl of the adjacent rock. Nice shot!

It is unbalanced with the dark shadows, tho.

Agreed.  The image drops off into nothing.

If one crops the really bright area off to the right (making a even band of clouds on the top) the image is more balanced.  I'm not sure if doing so kills the rest of the image.

Alternately I'd try to bring some of the details up in the shadow area.

Seems really close.

I agree with you on the shadow details. I worked with the contrast and brought some more detail on the shadows. I'm working on my laptop with a JPEG file, but I liked the results. I'm just not sure about the colors on the shadows.

Thanks for the feedback!

Luis

This version is better, shadows were too deep in your first version. There's some blue in the shadows, you could lower blue saturation in those areas.
