Title: Z3100 & Ilford Gold Silk
Post by: Darrill on March 27, 2008, 09:28:56 pm
I am printing with Ilford Galerie Gold Silk Fibre paper on a Z3100 using a profile based on Fine Art Pearl (More Ink) which also positions the carriage in the high position. I am also printing at 1200dpi with More Passes selected and GE in economode.

Unfortunately I am getting head strikes on the paper. Anyone else had this or printing with a similar set-up and avoiding the headstrikes?

Thanks, Darrill

Darill:

I had a problem with head strikes using Ilford Gold Silk at the very end of the printing when using sheets.  The printer head would Hover, going back and forth, not advancing the paper at the end of the printing, which cause the head strike.

I updated the print driver on the HP web site (HP Designjet Raster Driver’ version 5.1) and the problem went away.  At the end of the print the print head stops and the paper is ejected.
