Title: Snowdonia Dawn
Post by: simonkit on March 14, 2008, 05:44:36 am
Seen as I'm trapped inside here in North Wales at the moment by poor weather I thought I would post a couple of shots from last October for some C&C

 All comments appreciated

I like the near-far effect and width of the first one best. But I do wish you could reduce the size of the copyright text; it's very distracting.

Simon,
My favorite is also #1, well balanced. I do like #3 but the sky dwarfs the mountains and boulders in the water, my eyes go directly towards the top of the photo.

Thanks for the comments, sometimes nature really does blow me away & this was one of those times, the weather & lighting were pretty much as good as it gets. This shot shows the fantastic clouds a little better

The last one is made of the strong points of #1 et #3. This is the best of your serie, at least for me.

To me this is the best shot.
Did you consider sending it to Photography Monthly or Practical Photographer?
They publish a lot of excellent GB's landscape shots.

Cheers,

Thanks for the comments, never really given any thought to sending my shots to the magazines - might be worth a try, thanks for the idea

Particularly well done for not getting a car streaking down the right hand side of the image - every time I try to get a sunset from that location I can never quite manage to get a shot without headlights :-(

One of mine from the south side of Snowdon (from Porthmadog in fact):
