Title: Maps of New England
Post by: andrewj on February 22, 2008, 04:48:43 am
Hi,
When I did my "Grand Circle" tour last year, I found the AAA Indian Country map invaluable. This map covers all four states of the GC region, and includes just enough detail, including all the sites of tourist/photography interest.

Does anyone know of a New England equivalent? Ideally it would cover from Acadia in the Northeast to New York in the Southwest, with a similar scale and format to the AAA maps.
Thanks
Andrew

Tho not exactly what you asked about, check out the DeLorme Gazateer map books. They cover each state and are very detailed as to roads and topos. In the front of the books are pages of points of interest both "human made" and geologic.

I like both the AAA maps and the DeLorme Gazeteers.

Incidentally, AAA does have maps for the region you describe, but it takes three maps: Northern New England (=Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont), Southern New England (= Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island), and New York (which isn't part of New England, although it comes close     ).

The AAA maps are good for general highway navigation, but the DeLorme Gazeteers are great for detailed planning and exploring back roads.
