Title: Epson R 2400

I recently purchased an Epson R2400 printer and I'm having a problem with paper feed.  I have printed on 8.5 x 11 paper without a problem. Now when I am attempting to print on 13 X 19 Hahenmuhle Photorag Bright White I am getting messages that there is no paper in the printer, orthe paper is in the wrong feed position.
Any suggestions?

Insert sheet in back and make sure it feeds itself in correctly. Choose 13x19-manual-roll in  your page set up.

I tried your suggestion of feeding from the back and that doesn't work.   I went to the printer driver and changed  the default preferences to manual roll feed, and then in Photoshop I made the same selection and still no progress.  The printer just feeds the paper straight thru quickly without printing.

Thanks for your reply, I  found that this paper has to be fed thru the front sheet feeder because it is so heavy.

Good to hear.

The 2400 is a great printer, but infamous for paper feeding quirks, too.

Feeding paper through the rear feed on the R2400 can be tricky. Attempt to feed the sheet straight until the printer senses it and tugs it. Apply gentle pressure on top of the sheet until it pulls 2-3 more times. If it senses the paper is "straight enough" you are ready to print, other wise it will feed through.

kudzu, check pages 18-21 in the manual to make sure you are doing all the correct steps for the rear single sheet feeder - i use hahn photo rag 308 through that way all the time.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I found that using the front paper feed works best.
Now all I have to do is tweak my system so the print comes out lookinf similar to the one on my monitor.

I have the same problems.  13x 19 is not happening.  Disaster for output - miserable borders, fading not even a suitable  11x14 could be cut from the partial print.  11x 14 does print OK.  Try contacting Epson to get help.  You need to be Franz Lanting.

Epson has not returned requests for help.  The fact that the R2400 is not cheap, almost a grand, shouldn't problems be regarded as GRAND LARCENY?  Shouldn't it be a crime for a company not to respond to requests for help?  Think a note to the attorney general might help in our cases?

Yet we in the business resort to these sorts of forums for help against the bigs that DISDAIN us and are not staffed up to respond.

I looked at this earlier post with great interest. "You should clean rollers on a regular basis as a matter of course. You should be able to go to any Drug store and pick up some 99% rubbing alcohol and some Q-tips. Just moisten the Q-tip and rub the roller the whole length, and turn the roller slightly so you can complete the job all the way around. Throw out the Q-tip after use and use a new clean one the next time you do this. It is a somewhat common problem on printers for the rollers to pick up contaminants (dust) which can affect their ability to pick up and feed paper."


I have an Epson 2400, but I'm darned if I know how to get to the rollers — even hwere they are. I would very much appreciate advice and clarification.
