Title: Oscar Peterson
Post by: jacunivac on December 27, 2007, 10:17:04 am
Michael,

Thanks for sharing the video of Oscar Peterson. I sat here with my coffee and watched and can only hope my children have the kind of drive that will make them winners like Oscar Peterson. Win a spelling bee in order to have a camera to do something he had never done before, then go on to be probably the greatest jazz piano player of all time while pursuing his passion of photography. So much is possible.

Did you ever meet with him again? Did he learn anything about Photoshop? Do you have any examples of his photographs? I'd love to hear more.

Again, thanks for sharing. I'm playing Peterson's take on Fly Me to the Moon while I type this.

Sincerely,

Jack

Oscar was very open with his music but quite private with his photography. We ran into each other from time to time but I last saw him about a year ago.

He'll be sorely missed.

Michael
