Title: Ardennes and Eifel
Post by: Wim van Velzen on November 19, 2007, 03:43:17 pm
I have been busy lately.     After some new Denmark galleries I added some new portfolios on my site from a couple of days in the Ardennes and Eifel.

You can find the pictures here (http://www.fotografiewimvanvelzen.nl/landscape-portfolios.htm#germany).

Thanks for sharing Wim.

My father grew up in the Belgian Ardennes, and I love the place myself too.

Next time you are around, I advice you to spend some time in the "fanges" (wet highlands) around "la Croix Scaille".

Winter gets pretty cold there, with temperatures well below -10C at times, but the place is breathtaking.

Cheers,
Bernard

Sorry, Bernard, but when I worked up north, if the temperature was below -35 deg C we wouldn't work because the equipment would freeze up, but if it was -32 with a windchill of -60 or -70, it was just another 12 hour day.  -10 is pretty close to T-shirt weather!

Mike.

P.S.  Wim: excellent work, as usual, although the one above and the Berdorf images in general are my favourites...

Mike,

You are Canadian, your opinion doesn't count on this topic!

Cheers,
Bernard

It´s the summer mosquitos that immunise them from the weather!

Berdorf is my favourite too, Mike.
Bernard, thanks for the tip! We have been to the French Ardennes (near Rocroi), which is quite nearby.

As far as cold and Canada go - we aren´t used to much here indeed. Wouldn´t mind a good Winter though. We haven´t seen outdoor skating here since a long time.

Please, use less patrol!

I'm Belgian and don't know the place... shame on me?
There is a website with tourist information about the region (French only):
