Thank you very much for sharing with us your knowledge and experience. The article is well written and informative.
I does not only apply to square format camers but also to situations where you take a rectangular picture and crop it.

An informative perspective indeed, and some gorgeous images.
As a "rectangular" photographer, however, it appears I'm giving up a photographic tool. I love verticals, yet square photography won't let me choose, at least in the field.
I share your affection for the abstracting capabilities of the waist level finder. This characteristic is an invaluable feature on camcorders that have external viewing panels.
Thanks for the post!

Thank you for this post. I will try now to get some square compositions from my rectangular 35mm shots. :D

I don't know which I enjoyed more, the article or the pictures. Lovely work.

Hi all,
Just want to say I wrote an article about 'square composition'. It could be of interest for everyone working with a 6x6 or who would like to - and for everyone who likes to ponder and think about composition.

Shooting square is like shooting a horizontal and a vertical frame simultaneously. You can crop a square to go either vertical or horizontal easily.

Bravo, Again I am reminded why I miss my 500CM.

I am glad you like it!
I hope to add more articles soon; I'll keep you posted.

Maybe some day we will have a square chip for our DSLR's.
