Hi Folks:
First post here, I've been lurking for a while. This was taken near Sedona. AZ in Oak Creek canyon. Nikon D80, 18-135 at 20mm, polarizing filter, f 11 at 8 sec.
Your thoughts would be appreciated

If you crop out the shoreline I think you have an intersting abstract. The colors are great. The texture is great. The shoreline tells you what you are looking at and I think it ruins it. (Not to mention that the shoreline isn't that attractive.)

Thanks, I was torn between leaving the shoreline in and removing it. I chose to leave it for exactly the reason you state - it tells you what you are looking at. After reading this and re-evaluating that decision, I think you're right. What I wanted was the reflection, and I should have concentrated on that. I'll work on it and post a revised version. Learning!

Finally able to get back to this. Here it is without the shoreline. I do like this version much better; it makes you think a little more.
