Title: 1d mk3 Reliability
Post by: BobShram on September 21, 2007, 03:26:43 pm
I have just returned to the US from the UK. Because I stupidly forgot my battery charger. I tried a few photographers to see if I could get my batterys charged. It was mention of the 1d mk3 being returned by many wedding photographers because of reliability issues. This is a big blow to me as I was looking to purchase one in 6 months or so.

Has anyone had problems with the camera and is this somthing that can be sorted with this model

Regards Bob

There are some documented issues with the AF system that Canon is currently investigating. It's likely they will be fixed by the time you buy your camera.

Unfortunately I did not pursue the matter in much depth but my understanding was that it was more than the AF system problem.

Which beggs the question, if there a lot of camera's being returned. what happens to them? Are they repackaged then put back on the self for the next person? or do they go back to Canon till the problem is sorted?
