I was going to put this in the Coffee Corner, but I thought this forum might be more appropriate. The first link below is a newspaper article about a woman with synesthesia named Marcia Smilack and how she uses her rather unique 'sense' of the world around her in making photographs. Well, Mike, what can I say?
I have looked at the lady´s site and I think her images are spectacular. I only wish that she didn´t use the synthesia (?) factor in the verbal disposition. I have no personal knowledge of whether the condition really exisits or does not; in the context of an Artist´s Statement (I always suspect these - possibly my failing rather than theirs) it comes over as highly suspect, as an attempt to add an entirely unnecessary gravitas to what is excellent vision in its own right.
