Title: around Mexico DF

Flew here a few days ago for a fashion job, will have time off after that, any ideas country side not to far from DF? how is north east mexico? where can I find a "tipical" mexican town?

Right on the outskirts of Mexico DF are the ruins of ancient Teotihuacan, with spectacular pyramids and other buildings.  Renting a car and driver for the day to take you there is easy (we did it through our hotel).  A sample view, taken from the top of one of the pyramids:

(Sorry, I don't know much about where to find a typical town.  My travels in the region only included the city itself.)
