Title: Borders on images
Post by: Antarctic Mat on September 03, 2007, 01:39:37 pm
Hello.

I often see people post images on here with nice borders, often a plain black edge works really well. Is there a simple process for this? Is there something in photoshop that adds a border? I'd like to experiment so advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Mat.

Hi Matt,

 You mean like this?

 [attachment=3147:attachment]

 Here is a screen shot of the settings I used to make a 1/8" border.

 It is under Image>Canvas size

 By the way, loved your penquin shots.

Simplest method:

Photoshop: set background colour as desired in tools palette. Then Image->Canvas size, increase dimensions all around.

Remember to work on a copy of your image file.
