I have a Canon 420 Ex flash that I am using w/my 1D. Normally while in P mode when using the flash, the camera defaults to 1/60 F4. For whatever reason, the camera seems to not recognize the flash and chooses settings as if it was not attached. The flash will still fire though. I tried the flash w/my Rebel and the same problem occurred. I cleaned the contacts on both the flash and both cameras to no avail - any ideas?
