Post by: myxamop on August 12, 2007, 11:28:29 pm
This is a picture I took passing by, something came out of it.

1/500 of a sec at F5 iso 100

what do you guys (& gals) think?

Welll...

My honest first impression is that it looks overprocessed - like you bent the tone curve out of shape.

You asked...

Mike.

Quite like it; always was a sucker for simplicity and I think it works well.

that is true i did really bump curves, but hay its better than leaving it this dead gray  that it was.   wasn't a very good day that day, but the loons only really come around when they know it wont make for an extremely good picture.

It doesn't work for me. I suppose that I don't find it interesting enough. There is no tension or drama to the shot and the colour is too even - no dynamism.
I only mean to be constructive.

It looks to me like the foreground overwhelms the loon.  If  you could lighten the forward 20% of the image or just croup it it might work better.

Also, you should be beaten for the "loonly nights" pun.
