Title: From Camera to Print
Post by: Wayne Fox on July 31, 2007, 07:58:07 pm
I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying the video (just finished the LR sharpening part which was terrific).

Very nice job, and enjoyable.

So far there are a couple of segments that I personally have been looking for more advanced information, things beyond the scope of the target audience for the video.  One is a little more information on monitor calibration, specifically the setting of luminance, and the idea of using "native" white point and gamma.

Color Match and the suggested alternative monitor profiling software give me extremely different results setting a 120 luminance.  Using native gamma/white point gives me a screen that seems far too contrasty and difficult to use to judge output.  I suppose the short answer is use whatever combination of luminance/white point/gamma that works, which I will continue to do, but if this seems to work so well for others, wondering what I'm missing.

Any direction on some further information?
