Title: New Photography Workshop website launched.

Not sure if this is allowed or not - blatant self-advertising - but here goes.

I've been asked many times to run a photography workshop and held my first 'official' workshop a couple weekends ago.  It was awesome!

It was called the Georgian Shores Outdoor Photography Workshop and I had two great students - well, accomplished photographers in their own right, but participants none-the-less.  We had a great time and produced some wonderful images, even though it did rain most of the day and our first 'shoot' was on the side of the road while it poured down and trucks and cars whizzed by us kicking up even more preciptiation.  We looked like drowned rats at the end of the day, but totally smiling.  You can see a sample of the images at Georgian Shores (http://www.mgphotography.com/galleries/workshops/0707gsw/)

Anyway, I've had more requests so have now created a website dedicated to my workshops called, get this, www.PhotographyWorkshops.ca. (http://www.photographyworkshops.ca) Cool name eh!?  I can't believe it wasn't taken!

For my next excursion, I've teamed up with a colleague and friend of mine, Paul Howard, who happens to have a vessel called the 'Overexposed' (and the dingy named 'Underexposed') and together we're holding a workshop in the waters of the Georgian Bay Islands.  Specifically, Brebeuf Island Lighthouse (http://www.lighthousedepot.com/digest/Storypage.cfm?storykey=1433) and the Gin Rocks - two of the most picturesque area of Georgian Bay.  The date is set for September 12, 2007, leaving Penetanguishene at 1:00pm and returning after sunset.

Paul is an experienced boater that knows the waters well and is also a professional photographer, and I will be leading the workshop (since I don't know anything about boating).  I'm not new to Georgian Bay however, having studied under Budd Watson, friend and mentor, for many years and photographed the wonderous land and seascapes of Georgian Bay.  A day on Georgian Bay is worth a month in the studio - believe me!

So, I think most members here are advanced enough that my 'tutoring' may be of questionable value, but it is a great opportunity to photograph the beauty of Georgian Bay (it's been said that Georgian Bay has the best sunsets in the world - hopefully we'll catch one) and maybe I can help in some way to at least further experience the passion we call photography.

If you want more info.. just let me know.

FYI - two spots left for the Georgian Bay Islands Workshop to Brebeuf Lighthouse.
