I recently did a shoot for a men's "interest" magazine, which is part of an international brand. I did a front cover and ~7 full pages.
Now the UK headquarters wants to buy the rights to publish the photos in all countries (>30 countries, readership of something like 14 million).
I've never priced anything like this before. What's a reasonable fee?

Try this software...... it covers a wide range of pricing: [a href=\"http://www.fotoquote.com/fq-overview.html]http://www.fotoquote.com/fq-overview.html[/url]

Hi -
If you are getting into that level of photography, then I suggest that the way forward for you is to get a good agent - if you can! - because doing things on your own in the photo marketplace isn´t always the best, if only because you get into the mindset where you fear pricing high in case you lose future work. Then, if you come in cheaply you will find it hard to get out of that category into the next step upwards. On the other hand, good agents are more realistic and deal with picture buyers all the time - it´s their living!
An indication of price, if you have no agent, is possible (vaguely) if you know the page-rate that the publication pays or charges for space.
The other thing to remember is the model: have you got a release that covers ALL uses?
Minefields are to be found in all sorts of war-zones....
Good luck!

See if you can get in touch with someone who has done a cover like that before and see what they charged. Otherwise ask the editor, although he may not be the most truthful.

Thanks for the answers so far.

Just looked at your site. Nice pictures, you must already be aware of model release problems, so that´s one less factor to worry about!

You seem to be going pro. Find yourself a good agent who can promote you for more work and handle this one.

Seth Resnick offers a pricing service at his site. With the usage your dealing with it would be good to get an experienced consultation.
